Earl L. Burnett, 78 years of Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022.
Earl was born January 6, 1944, in Adams County, OH., the son of the late Louden and Vivian (Bissinger) Burnett. Beside his parents, Earl was preceded in death by a son, Robby and a brother, James Burnett.
Earl was a 1962 graduate of Hillsboro High School, 1966 graduate of Ohio University and received his master's degree from Xavier University in 1970. Earl worked 36 years in Education, his last 30 years as a Counselor for Hillsboro City Schools, retiring in 2001. Earl was a member of the Hillsboro 1st United Methodist Church and a member of the Hillsboro Lion's Club for several years.
On January 31, 1965, Earl was united in marriage to Sharon (Moore) Burnett who survives; two sons, Gregory "Greg" (Trisha) Burnett of Wilmington, N.C., Bradley "Brad" (Elizabeth) Burnett of Zionsville, IN; six grandchildren, Jordan, Erin, Jake, Drew, Carson, Griffin; one brother, Wayne Burnett of North Carolina; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 28, 2022, at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Dr. Pastor Derek Russell will officiate with burial to follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home. Family requests for everyone to wear masks.
