Mr. Earl F. Hoop Jr. passed away on November 11, 2013 at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
Earl was born to parents, Earl F Hoop Sr. and Dorothy West Hoop on Monday, May 18, 1931 in West Union, OH.
He left High School to join the military and served during WWII. He retired from the US Air Force as a Sr. Master Sergeant. Earl was instrumental in starting several healthcare facilities and was the CEO of each of them, including River Park Hospital in McMinnville, TN in 1969, Marion Community Hospital in Ocala, FL now Ocala Regional Medical Center in 1973, and Skylark Outpatient Clinic in Ocala in the late 1980's.
He was loved and will be greatly missed by those who survive him, including his wife, Betty Hoop; daughter, Michele Crim; sons, Michael Hoop, Doug Hoop, Steve Hoop Stella, Jeff Hoop, and Joe Hoop; grandchildren, Michael Hoop Jr. Ivy, Lindsey Crim, Jennifer Hoop, Dallas Hoop, Hunter Hoop, and Eloise Hoop; great grandson, Noah Hoop; brothers, Vaughn, Dick, and Bobby Hoop; sisters, Nancy Eubanks and Linda Fisher; several nephews and nieces as well as many extended family members.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at the Peebles American Legion with military rites given by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday from 1:00 till 3:00 P.M. at the Legion. Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles is in charge of the arrangements.
