Edgar N. Post, 96 years of Miamisburg, formerly of Hillsboro, died Saturday June 19, 2004 at Hospice of Dayton.
He was born on December 9, 1907 in Highland County, Ohio the son of the late Charles and Bessie Webb Post.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Carl Post.
He graduated from Wilmington College and retired in 1969 after 39 years of service, having taught from 1930 to 1942 at Milford Center, 1942 to 1943 at Madison Rural, 1943-1947 at Jeffersonville, 1947-1954 at Catawba , 1954-1958 at Beaver Creek, 1958-1959 taught and coached at Belfast, 1959-1969 at Hillsboro City School and was Jr. High School Principal at the time of his retirement. He was a life time member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association, 50 year member of the Jeffersonville Lodge #468 F.& A.M. and Valley of Columbus Scottish Rite.
On July 24, 1930 he was united in marriage to Mary Hiser Post who survives, three sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Betty Post of Dayton, Hugh and Belinda Post of Dayton, Harold and Kathi Post of Albuquerque, New Mexico, five grandchildren, Rick Post, Tammy McCrabb, Cindy Butler, Brian Post, Andrew Post, five great grandchildren,
Elisa Post, Ryan Post, Ryan Butler, Tyler Butler and Hannah McCrabb.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at the Convenience of the Family at the Hillsboro Cemetery with the Rev. Janie Shoemaker officiating.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2:30 till 3:15 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
