Edith Foster, age 86 of Winchester, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015 at Adams County Manor.
She was born in Brown County, Ohio on August 2, 1928 the daughter of the late Charles and Georgia (Combs) Kress.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert E. Kress and Henry W. Kress and one sister, Anna M. Sawyers.
Edith attended Winchester Church of Christ in Christian Union, was a member of the Winchester American Legion Auxiliary post #242, and a member of the Ripley DAV Auxiliary #90.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William Arnold Foster of Winchester; two sons, David A. and Cathy Foster of Tarboro, North Carolina and Bill and Julia Foster of Winchester; one brother, Walter D. Kress of Sardinia; one sister, Rebecca A. Daley of Cincinnati; four grandchildren, Sara L. Foster, Eric, Scott, and Michelle, 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Winchester Church of Christ in Christian Union with Rev. Dan Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Winchester Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. at the church. Wallace-Thompson Funeral Homes, Bradford-Sullivan Chapel in Winchester is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Winchester Church of Christ in Christian Union.
