Edith Hopkins

Edith Hopkins, age 82 of Rarden, passed away Friday, October 17, 2014 at Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center.
She was born in Scioto County, Ohio on August 8, 1932 the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary (Brickey) Lucas.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David Hopkins, who passed away on May 24, 1979; son, Robert Hopkins; daughter, Brenda Hopkins; and three sisters, Barbara Conley, Kathleen Hileman, and Dorothy Lucas.
Edith was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Rev David and Rolene Hopkins of Peebles; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Charles Noel of Piketon; two brothers, Roy and Kathy Lucas of Portsmouth and Tom and Janice Lucas of Piketon; two sisters, Marjorie Joe and Paul Kennedy of Minford and Elizabeth Coldiron of Portsmouth; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Peebles Church of Christ in Christian Union with Rev. Dave Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in McKendree Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. at the church.
Memorials may be made to the church Building Fund.
Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles is in charge of the arrangements.
