Edna L. Tharp

Edna L. Tharp, 83 years of Hillsboro, passed away on April 26, 2016 at the Crestwood Ridge Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Hillsboro.

She was born in Highland County on November 16, 1932, the daughter of the late Calvin Theodore and Edna (Rhoads) Clark. Besides her parents she was also preceded by her husband, George Oscar Tharp, daughter, Dency Faye Moon, four sisters, Margie Mae Potts, Helen Marie Lightner, Dorothy Jean Clark and Baby Doll Clark, brother, Virgil Ray Clark and son-in-law, Eugene Fent.

Edna was employed at Highland District Hospital.

Edna is survived by her three daughters; Anna Fent of Hillsboro, Rose (Doug) Keller of Hillsboro and Rita (Tim) Lyons of Hillsboro; sister, Dollie Hottinger of Wilmington, two brothers; Eldon (Betty) Clark of Hillsboro and Tommie (Eve) Clark of Mims, FL, six grandchildren; Eugene (Lori) Fent of Hillsboro, Billy Fent of Hillsboro, Shelly (Darrell) Kirby of Lynchburg, Mica (Amber) Workman of Hillsboro, Amanda Lyons of Hillsboro, and Brandon Lyons of Hillsboro, ten great grandchildren; Bradley (Amanda) Fent, Ashley (Ben Sinclair) Fent, Heather (Matt) Fent-Walker, Brittany (Mitch) Gall, Michael Cole Fent, Wyatt Fent, Lea (Zach Ritt) Jones, Samantha Kirby, Owen Kirby and Tyler Bray Workman and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Friday April 29, 2016 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Hillsboro Cemetery.

Friends may call at 11:00AM until time of services on Friday at the Thompson Funeral Home.

Donations can be made to The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
