Edward E. Herrick Britten, 70 years of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022.

Ed was born November 25, 1952 in Troy, N.Y., the son of the late Leroy Reuben and Harriett (Lane) Britten.

Ed was a 1971 graduate of Stillwater High School in Stillwater, N.Y. After graduation, Ed enlisted in the U.S. Army serving during the Viet Nam War. After his enlistment, Ed continued serving his Country in the Army Reserves where he retired after 20 years of service. Ed worked at the Montrose Square Apartments in Hillsboro for 22 years and at Lowes in Hillsboro for several years. Ed was a member of the Northview Baptist Church.

On January 5, 1985, Ed was united in marriage to Christine (Moore) Britten who survives; one daughter, Rebeca McCurry of Crawfordsville, IN.; one sister, Jane Albertson of New Baltimore, N.Y.; nephew, Russell Albertson; niece, Valerie Fritchley and a host of friends.

A Celebration of Life was held January 7, 2023 at the Northview Baptist Church.

Pastor Doug Saunders officiated.

Burial followed in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.

Family requests memorials to the Northview Baptist Church.
