Edward Dale Carter, 90 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Monday September 19, 2022.
He was born in Springfield on June 22, 1932, the son of the late William and Deanna (Wolf) Carter. Besides his parents, he is also preceded by his wife, Thelma Jean (Gross) Carter, son, John Carter, daughter, Katherine Jean Carter, brothers, Donald, Allen, William, Michael and Steven Carter, sisters, Ruth Ann Shoemaker, Margaret Clemons and Eleanor Detty and great grandchild, Crystal Page.
Edward is survived by his sons, Donald Carter of Hillsboro, David (Pam) Carter of Hillsboro and Jerry Carter of Hillsboro, daughters, Judy (Lowell) Page of Hillsboro, Carolyn (Anthony) Smith of Lynchburg and Nancy (Matt) Brockman of Martinsville, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one great grandchild and sister, Judy (John) Green of Hillsboro.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday September 23, 2022 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the New Market Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 11:00 am until time of services on Friday at the Thompson Funeral Home.
