Edward Ray Johnson

January 20, 1925 — October 19, 2017

Rev. Edward Ray Johnson, 92 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Thursday October 19, 2017 at the Georgetown VA.

He was born in Lockland, Ohio on January 20, 1925, the son of the late Arthur and Jesse (Reed) Johnson. Besides his parents, he was also preceded by his daughter-in-law, Judee Johnson.

Edward served in the United States Air Force, for 30 years, taught math at Southern State Community College where he later became an Associate Dean at the North Campus and was a local Methodist Minister for 19 years.

Edward is survived by his wife, Edna Evelyn (Colyer) Johnson, three sons, Brian (Laura) Johnson of Hillsboro, David (Rita) Johnson of Springhill, FL and Steven Johnson of Springfield, OH, five grandchildren: Eric (Haley) Johnson, Jessica (Pete) Stulginski, Tim Johnson, Michael Johnson and Mark (Erica) Johnson, seven great grandchildren: Carter, Paige, Jake, Tyler, Alexis, Alex and Rachel, brother, Dewey (Faye) Johnson of Columbus and sister, Imogene Gilbert of Mason.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday October 28, 2017 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Hillsboro Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.

Friends may call from 11:00 AM until time of the services on Saturday at the Thompson Funeral Home.

Donations can be made to the Hospice of Hope or the Alzheimer's Association.
