Elbert R. Crowe, 89 years of Hillsboro, OH, died Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Laurels of Hillsboro..
He was born in Pike Co., OH on February 23, 1919 the son of the late James and Della Smith Crowe. Mr. Crowe was a retired Truck driver for Fisher Beverage in Springfield and also a U.S. Army Veteran serving in W.W. II with the 11th Airborne 187th Paraglide. Mr. Crowe was a lifetime member of the Am Vets Post #61, and the VFW Post # 9094, both of Hillsboro.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son Timothy, 9 brothers Orville, Harry, George, Lawrence, Ed, Harley, Hobert & two infant brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Crowe, two daughters, Jeannie Nicley, & Sheila Roger Bailey both of Hamilton OH., three sons, Hobert Carol Crowe, Jim Stansberry both of Hillsboro OH. & MSgt Ret Terry Cindy Stansberry of Calloway, FL., two brothers, Gene Roberta Crowe and & Frank special friend Francis Waits Crowe, both of Sabina OH. Mr. Crowe also had 8 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildre,& several nieces, nephews, cousins & a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 6, 2009 at 1:30 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Friday from 11:00 till 1:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
