Elbert ?Moose? Vance, 74 years of Winchester, died Saturday, October 19, 2002 at the Ohio Valley Manor in Ripley.
He was born in Winchester, Ohio on September 25, 1928 the son of the late David and Nellie Harmon Vance.
He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Winchester Church of Christ in Christian Union, Winchester American Legion Post #242, and a retired fireman for the Winchester Fire Department.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Vance, who passed away in 1988, second wife, Opal Vance, who passed away in 2002, and two sisters, Mae Johnson, and Flora Jane Vance.
He is survived by his step son, Keith Moore of Ewing, Texas, step daughter, Patty Mahaffey of Springboro, brother, Charles Vance of Mainville, sister, Nola Ryan of Seaman, five step grandchildren, Jill, Penny, Molly, Chris, Diana, and two nieces, Joyce, and Dee Dee.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at the Winchester Church of Christ in Christian Union with Rev. Marilyn Roades officiating. Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery with military
graveside rites conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Monday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Bradford-Sullivan Funeral Home in Winchester.
