Bishop Eli Hershberger, Jr. of West Union, died September 24, 2009 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.

He was born on February 15, 1940. He was born to Eli Hershberger and Mary Beachy Hershberger.

He was a member of the Old Order Amish.

He is survived by his wife Anna Miller, whom he married on April 16, 1961, eleven daughters; Wilma of Butler, Ohio, Maryann Joseph Shrock of Danville, Ohio, Verna Gary Mast of Shreve, Ohio, Fannie David Mast of Millersburg, Ohio, Esta Daniel Miller of Shreve, Ohio, Dena Alan Mast of West Union, Mabel Duane Mast of Shreve, Ohio, Alma of the home, Erma Stephen Stutzman of Peebles, Anna of Hillsboro, and Barbara Marvin Yoder of West Union, two sons; Jonas Hershberger Marie Mast of Shreve, Ohio and Reuben Hershberger Christina Yutzy of West Union, one brother; Sylvanus Hershberger, one sister; Katie Ann Albert Miller, 52 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Eli and Mary Beachy Hershberger.

Funeral services were held on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 9:00 A.M. at Kenneth Schrock's residence with Bishop Freeman Yutzy officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman were in charge of the arrangements.
