Ellen Marie Alexander

Ellen Marie Alexander, 93 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Monday December 14, 2015 at the Heartland of Hillsboro.
She was born in Adams County on June 5, 1922, the daughter of the late Joseph Harley and Mary (Teegarden) Hauldren. Besides her parents she was also preceded by her husband William Arthur Alexander on January 5, 1990, two sons, Boris J. and Mark L. Alexander, one grandson, Joel Alexander, two sisters, Clemence Susan Behymer and Donna Jean Hamilton and one brother, Shriver Hauldren.
Ellen was a member of the Hillsboro First Baptist Church, Hillsboro Chapter #441 O.E.S., attended Holbrook College in Manchester and Wilmington College, taught two years at Blue Creek, one year at Lynchburg and substituted for several years in Highland County Schools. The accompanying photo was Ellen's pinup girl photo for her brother's bomber squadron during WWII.
Ellen is survived by her four sons, William J. (Carleen) Alexander of Hillsboro, Terrence H. (Susan) Alexander of Hillsboro, Philip L. (Ellen) Alexander of Columbus, IN and Matthew W. (Linda Muhly) Alexander of Bridgeport, WV, brother Joseph Franklin (Dorothy) Hauldren of Columbus, GA, sister, Leah Snow of Milford, 15 grandchildren: Christopher (Misty) Alexander, Benjamin Alexander, Carrie (Brian) Furnish, Sarah (Nathan) Kelch, Jacob (Kristie) Alexander, Kara Alexander, Zachary Alexander, Katherine Alexander, Jeremy (Vicky) Alexander, Michele Schoonover, Rebecca Alexander, Dillon Muhly-Alexander, Kali Muhly-Alexander, Laurel Muhly-Alexander and Fay Alexander Millard, 13 great grandchildren: Katie, Ty, Kate, Blake, Becca, Wynston, Kennedy, Graydon, Mollie, Kerstin, Alex, Debbie, Lydia and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday December 19, 2015 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillsboro Cemetery with Rev. Larry Stewart officiating.
Friends may call at 11:00 A.M. until time of service on Saturday at the Thompson Funeral Home.
