Ellen Griffith

Ellen Griffith, 83 years of Lynchburg, passed away on Tuesday February 27, 2018 at the Arbor at Springfield.

She was born in Hydin, KY on March 12, 1934, the daughter of the late Ira and Oma (Collins) Rice. Besides her parents she was preceeded in death by her husband, Vernon Chester Griffith; daughter, Jennifer Kay Gillis; sisters, Mary Williams, Annie Rice, and Ira Rowing; and two great grandchildren, Gabble and Ace.

Ellen is survived by her son, Jerry Griffith of Allensburg; daughter, Caroline Griffith-Kerrick of Wilmington; brothers, Hobert Rice of Florida, Tester Rice of Kentucky, Aster Rice of Kentucky, Lester Rice of Cincinnati; sisters, Lillie Hopkins of New Richmond, May Gibson of Hillsboro, Nona Carter of Lynchburg, Easter Gibson of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Amy Hoover, Donnie Routt, and Dusty Rout; and six great grandchildren, Angel, Jeffrey, Noah, Cody, Emma, and Aiden.

Funeral Services will be Friday March 9, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Friday March 9, 2018 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
