Ernest Woodrow "Ernie" Rhoads, 75 years of Hillsboro, died Monday, July 23, 2007.
He was born in Highland County, Ohio on February 7, 1932 the son of the late Hyman and Macy Lewis Rhoads.
Ernie enjoyed talking on the CB and his handle was ?Red Man?. He loved to watch western?s and was an avid outdoorsman.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers Richard, Russell, Ovie, and Thomas Rhoads, and one sister Mabel Purdin.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Marvin & Mary Ann Rhoads of Hillsboro, Ohio. Three daughters and son-in-laws Sandy & Troy Elchert of Hillsboro, Ohio, Brenda & Jack Rhoads of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Kathy & Raymond Mootz of Lynchburg, Ohio. One brother Jody Rhoads of Hillsboro, Ohio. Two sisters Edna Elchert of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Ruby Everetts of Burgoon, Ohio. Six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a special friend Margaret Peyton of Hillsboro, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Ohio with Allan Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
