Ersyl W. Lucas, 102 years of Cincinnati, died Friday, April 16, 2004 at the Montgomery Care Center.
She was born in Highland County, Ohio on September 1, 1901 the daughter of the late Curtis P. and Mary Landess Walker.
She was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and Miami University. After graduating from Miami University she was a fourth grade teacher in the Middletown School District. She was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ, the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, Coterie Club, and the Farm Bureau. She was a founding member of the Highland County Society for Children and Adults.
She was united in marriage in 1925 to George Robert Lucas, who preceded her in death on June 5, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, H. Lawson Walker and Carl F. Walker.
She is survived by her daughter, Tana Lucas of Cincinnati, and three nephews, H. Lawson Walker, II of Cresent Springs, Kentucky, David Walker of Follansbee, West Virginia, and Curtis Walker of Dunedin, Florida.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 11:30 A.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 till 11:30 A.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home.
