Ethel Cross, 84 years of Peebles, passed away Friday, September 2, 2011 at Pleasant Hill Manor.
She was born in Peebles, Ohio on May 14, 1927 the daughter of the late Emerson and Pearl Woods Conaway.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Neute Johnson who passed away in 1986 and one daughter; Frances Kidder.
Ethel attended Peebles Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her husband Amos Cross of Peebles, whom she married on September 8, 1993, three sons and daughters-in-law; Roger and Nettie Johnson of Williamsburg, Ralph and Linda Johnson of Peebles, and Neute and Sherry Johnson, Jr. of St. Cloud, Florida, two daughters and sons-in-law; Diane and Dick McKenzie of Seaman and Beverly and James McKenzie of Peebles, one brother; Joe DeVore of West Union, one sister; Mary Richmond of Cincinnati, one step daughter; Kay and Danny Dick, four step sons; Randy and Linda, Rob and Jennifer, Rick and Teresa, and Kevin and Jeana Cross, sixteen grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Dave Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 1:00 till 3:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
