Evelyn Smith, 97 years of Springfield, Illinois, formerly of Winchester, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002 at the Sangamon Care Center in Springfield, Illinois.
She was born in Winchester, Ohio on September 22, 1904 the daughter of the late Ira and Edith Kendall Short.
She was a member of the Winchester Presbyterian Church.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Rose, her second husband, Shade Smith, two sons, Eddie Smith, Charles Rose, one brother, Ralph Short, and two sisters, Mary Short, and Ruth Stevenson.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Donna Rose of Springfield, Illinois, daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Ron Swearengen of New York, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bradford-Sullivan Funeral Home in Winchester with Rev. Paul Rose officiating. Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery.
Friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 till 11:00 A.M. at the Bradford-Sullivan Funeral Home.
