Fernando M. "Ferdy" Garcia, Jr., 65 years of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021.
Ferdy was born March 7, 1956 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Fernando M. and Ruby M. (Steed) Garcia, Sr. Beside his parents, Ferdy was preceded in death by one brother, Denver Garcia.
Ferdy was a 1974 graduate of Hillsboro High School, and lived by his class motto, "The most I can do for my friend is simply to be his friend." He attended Southern State Community College where he received his Associate Degree and graduated with honors from the Ohio University with a Bachelor's Degree.
While attending college, Ferdy worked at several Auto Parts Store's in Hillsboro and West Union. After receiving his Bachelor's Degree, Ferdy started substitute teaching at all the Schools in Highland County.
Ferdy was a life member of the NRA, Highland County Coon Hunters Club; a hunter, fisherman and a conservationist.
Ferdy is survived by his lifelong neighbors and dear friends, Herman and Sarah Aber Family, special friends Melody Reno and Kevin Bowling.
Graveside Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 8, 2021 at the Barker Cemetery in Pricetown. Rev. Tom Zile will officiate services.
