Follis Helterbrand, 92 years of Jamestown, OH., passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at Liberty of Jamestown.
He was born August 20, 1921 in Highland County, OH., the son of the late Clarence and Sarah Groves Helterbrand. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Eloise V. Murphy Helterbrand on December 21, 2008; two grandchildren; 7 brothers, Elmer, Ralph, Donald, Lawrence, Russell, Wilbur, Kye Helterbrand; 2 sisters, Ida Everetts, Edna Helterbrand.
Follis served his country during WW II in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Morris-Bean Company in Yellow Springs.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Donald R. Meredith of Jamestown, OH., Shirley J. and Kenneth C. Claybaugh of Clarksville; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren; one brother and best friend, Alvin Helterbrand of Hillsboro; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring.
Burial will follow with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard at the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
