Forest Smalley, age 91 of Peebles, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at his residence.
He was born in Bainbridge, Ohio on August 3, 1923 the son of the late William and Nellie (Lytle) Smalley.
Forest attended Peebles Church of God; he was also a US Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Peebles Masonic Lodge #581, Seaman American Legion post #633, and the Central Committee Jacksonville Precinct Republican Party.
He is survived by his wife, whom he married on November 16, 1974, Naomi (Nichols) Smalley of Peebles; two sons, Rich and Diana Hilterbran of Peebles and Jeff and Sheri Hilterbran of Peebles; one daughter, Kathy Conaway of Lake Waynoka; two brothers, BP Smalley of Waldorf, Maryland and Kenny Smalley of Peebles; one sister Gwen Brownlee of Seaman; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Harold Keaton and Dave Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with a military graveside service given by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Meigs Township Trustee for Cemetery Veterans Memorial Fund at First State Bank, Vistas Hospice, or Peebles Church of God Youth Group.
