Francis W. "Doc" DeVore, 91 years of the Danville Community, died Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at his residence.
He was born in Brown County, Ohio on March 25, 1915 the son of the late Harry and Maude Womacks DeVore.
He was a lifelong farmer and retired from Highland Stone. He was a member of the Hillsboro B.P.O.E. #361.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Aileen McKinney DeVore, who passed away on February 9, 1998, two sisters, and two brothers.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Suzanne DeVore of Hillsboro, daughters and sons-in-law, Jenny Lynne and John Hopkins of Hillsboro, Judith and Walt Welch of Kettering, five grandchildren, Michael Nancy Welch, Dietra Kenny Harless, Dennis DeVore, Karma Daren Broemeling, and Fred Smith, and six great grandchildren, Matthew and Jessica Welch, Chloe and Kennedy Harless, and Memphis and Murray Broemeling.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at the Hamer Township Cemetery. Burial will follow in the Hamer Township Cemetery.
There will be no visitation observed.
Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
