Frankie L. Stephens, 71 years of Peebles, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at the Adams County Hospital in West Union.
He was born in Peebles, Ohio on April 12, 1932 the son of the late Thomas and Thelma Plummer Stephens.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Peebles American Legion Post #594.
He is survived by his wife, Opal Ryan Stephens, who he married on April 23, 1955, sons and daughters-in-law, Vone & Becky Stephens of Peebles, Butch Stephens of Peebles, Dave & Pam Stephens of Peebles, Neal Stephens of Peebles, Frankie and Katy Stephens of Peebles, daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Charlie Combs of Peebles, Mary and Bub Conaway of Peebles, fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and sisters, Linda Toller of Peebles, and Phyllis Allen of Peebles.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Dave Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Friday from 11:00 till 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
