Fred Nelson Bowman

Fred Nelson Bowman, 62 years of Petersburg, passed away on Tuesday June 27, 2017 at his residence.
He was born in Dayton on September 5, 1954, the son of the late James Frederick and Geneva Twilight (Brown) Bowman. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Donald Bowman.
Fred served in the United States Navy, was a member of the Cincinnati Astronomical Society and was an avid coin collector.
He is survived by two brothers, Paul (Charity) Bowman of Mowrystown and Ed (Alissa) Bowman of Tennessee, and one sister, Mary (Paul Riley) Bechdolt of Hillsboro, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday June 30, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with a military graveside to follow at the Roads Cemetery.
Friends and family may call from 12:00 until time of service on Friday June 30, 2017 at the Funeral Home.
The family asks that donations be made to Thompson Funeral Home.
