Gail C. Layman, 78 years of Washington Court House, died Thursday, June 30, 2005 at the Mt. Carmel West Hospital in Columbus.
He was born in Danville, Ohio on July 20, 1926 the son of the late Stanley R. and Nellie Cook Layman.
He retired from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources as a maintenance foreman for state parks. He was a life member of the Highland County Antique Machinery Club; and was an avid collector of gas engines and tractors.
He is survived by his son, Jack Layman of New Holland, Ohio, daughter, Sally Ann Free of Frankfort, Ohio, three grandchildren, Amy Morgan, Kimberly Brandon Persinger, Laura Eric Crawford all of Chillicothe, five great grandchildren, and cousin, John Cook of Hillsboro.
Graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2005 at 4:30 P.M. at the Hamer Township Cemetery. Burial will follow in the Hamer Township Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 till 4:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
