Geneva Fern Layton, 88 years of Winchester, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.
She was born in Grange City, Kentucky on July 22, 1916 the daughter of the late James H. and Ona A. Rawllings Colliver.
She was a member of the Winchester Church of Christ, Winchester American Legion Auxiliary Cameron-Ellis Post #242, the Scattered Homemakers, and the Secret Sisters Club. She was a cook at the Cherry Fork Schools.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert A. Layton, who passed away August 30, 1980, five brothers, Hobert, Holton, Carlos, Thomas Earl, and James Colliver, and three sisters, Carrie Carpenter, Evelyn Spencer, and Margarette James.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Hesler of Winchester, grandchildren, Brittany Hesler, Bethany Hesler, very special niece, Billie Pierce of Morehead, Kentucky, two nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bradford-Sullivan Funeral Home in Winchester with Bill Bravard and Don Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Cherry Fork Cemetery.
Friends may call on Saturday from 4:00 till 6:00 P.M. at the Bradford-Sullivan Funeral Home.
