Genevieve Carolyn Elliott

Genevieve Carolyn (Grandma Jenny) Elliott, of Peebles, Ohio departed this life on Tuesday December 23, 2014. She was born at home in Springfield, OH on May 4, 1933, the daughter of the late Clarence Sr. and Lula Irene (Clary) Zile.
Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Fred Jr. Elliott who passed away on December 12, 1972; sister Doris (Zile) McElwee and granddaughter Stacey Renee Elliott.
She is survived by four sons, Steve and Melody (McCleese) Elliott of Peebles, Ohio, Dan Elliott of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Jeff Elliott of Peebles, Ohio and Joe and Cynthia Elliott of Belgium, Europe; ten grandchildren, Clint & Jennifer (Elliott) Jamison of Jenera, Ohio, Steven & Nikki Elliott of Peebles, Ohio, Eric & Mary Elliott of Hilliard, Ohio, Brandon & Jennie Elliott of Pebbles, Ohio, Christina Elliott of Hillsboro, Ohio, Adam Elliott of McDermott, Ohio, Justin Elliott of Hillsboro, Ohio, Ginger, Mandy & Aaron Elliott of Belgium, Europe; 18 great grandchildren with one more due in January, 2015; two brothers, Clarence Jr. and Kathleen Zile of Sinking Spring, Ohio, John and Marie Zile of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Irene (Zile) Humphrey of Sinking Spring, Ohio, Mary Lou (Zile) Hanson of West Union, Ohio and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
Genevieve graduated from Sinking Spring School, retired from Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro and later retired from Greene Chiropractic Center in Peebles, Ohio. She loved caring for others and devoted her life to her family, friends and anyone who needed her. She loved working outdoors from working in the garden to mowing yards. She was a member of the Hillsboro Chapter #441 Order Eastern Star. She grew up attending the Pisgah United Methodist Church and later pastored there for several years when it was the Pisgah Church. At the time of her passing she was the piano player for the Harriet Independent Church in Harriet, Ohio. Genevieve dedicated her life to serving the Lord and Savior and has now gained her eternal reward.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday December 28, 2014 at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles, OH. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 12:00 P.M. until time of service on Sunday at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles, OH.
The family would like to invite all family and friends to join us at the Sinking Spring Community Building (the old gym) after the services for a meal and to share fond memories of our mother and grandmother.
