Genevieve Silcott, 77 years of Seaman, died Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Adams County Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Nashville, Tennessee on August 19, 1931 the daughter of the late Clarence B. and Anna Mae Dillahay Hayes.
Genevieve was a LPN at Adams County Hospital for fourteen years, worked many years at Hillcrest Nursing Home, and bowled on leagues at Sunset Bowling Alley for many years.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Leon Elkins, second husband Marvin Shaffer, third husband Donald Silcott, one brother, Clarence Hayes, and one sister, Emily Lindsey.
She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Barbara Jo Elkins of Winchester, Buddy and Vicky Elkins of Mentor, Ohio, Bill Elkins of Sardinia, and Marvin and Julie Shaffer of Olathe, Kansas, two daughters, Susan Able Elkins of Seaman and Genny Elkins of Seaman, fifteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman with Norman Kimberly officiating. There will be a graveside service at Sugarcreek Cemetery in Ironton, Ohio at 3:00 P.M.
Friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 till 11:00 A.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman.
