George E. Chambers, 77 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Sunday March 18, 2018.
He was born in Highland County on November 30, 1940, the son of the late Orlando and Grace Belle (Collier) Chambers. Besides his parents, he was also preceded by his brother, Lando Jean Chambers, four sisters, Brackie Walker, Paula Stevens, Rae Willis and Billie Jane Smith and father-in-law, John Groppenbacher.
George was a graduate of Belfast High School, was a member of the Harriett Community Church, retired from Rotary Forms in Hillsboro and was a lifelong farmer.
George is survived by his wife, Jane (Groppenbacher) Chambers, whom were married on October 1, 1961, two sons, Orlando (Wilma) Chambers of Berea, KY and George Travis Chambers of Asheville, NC, granddaughter, Cassie Chambers, daughter, Willa Chambers of Lexington, KY, two brothers, Lowell (Carolyn) Chambers of Hillsboro and Eldon R. (Mary) Chambers of Earlton, FL, sister, Patricia (Paul) Leach of Boston, KY, mother-in-law, Helen Groppenbacher of Hillsboro, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Union Chapel Church, near Belfast, 2355 Union Road Hillsboro, OH 45133, 1:00 PM Thursday March 22, 2018.
