George Allen "J.R." Dix, 76 years of Hillsboro, died Saturday February 22, 2014 at the Highland District Hospital.
He was born April 9, 1937 in Columbus, OH, the son of the late George E. and Avonelle D. DeLong Dix. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by one son Keith Dix.
George served his country in the U.S. Navy, retired from Taylor Chevrolet in Lancaster, OH., a member of the Delta Lodge #207 F.&A.M. McArthur, OH.
On March 10, 1961 he was united in marriage to Diana C. Bader Dix who survives; two daughters and son-in-law, Karen Sue and Denny Burns of Minerva, OH., Pamela Lynn Fout of Hillsboro, OH.; two sons and daughter-in-law, George Ellsworth and Dawn Dix of Canal Winchester, OH., Kevin Allen Dix of Hillsboro, OH.; two brothers, Robert B. Dix of Ft. Myers, FL., Michael E. Dix of Harrisburg, OH.; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
According to his wishes, he will be cremated under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
