George William Shoemaker

George William Shoemaker, 88 years of Wilmington formerly of New Vienna died Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Autumn Years Nursing Center.
He was born at Locust Grove on August 14, 1921 the son of the late James W. and Cordelia Raybourn Shoemaker. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Shoemaker, Robert Shoemaker, Russell Shoemaker, two sisters, Helen Hottinger and Mary Knauff Copley.
He was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII.
He is survived by his wife Charlotte Dick Shoemaker whom he married on June 18, 1952, one son and daughter-in-law, David and Charlene Shoemaker of Hillsboro, one brother, John Shoemaker of Sabina, two sisters, Elnora Garman of Florida, Shirley Dunseith of Highland, two sisters-in-laws, Ruby Shoemaker, Arlene Shoemaker, two grandchildren, Stephanie Spinks, Jennifer Meija, eight great grandchildren, Jose, Ausha, Jonathan, Maria, Delores Nicole, Sabrina, Reily and Travis.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Hillsboro with burial in the New Vienna Cemetery with military rites by the Wilmington American Legion Post #49.
Friends may call on Thursday from11:00 A.M. till time of service at 1:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
