Geraldine Lou Campton, 71 years of Seaman, died Friday, March 5, 2004 at the Batavia Nursing Center.
She was born in Adams County on October 1, 1932 the daughter of John and Lucille Elizabeth Francis Slack.
She attended the Peebles Church of Christ in Christian Union and had worked at the US Shoe Factory.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Rae Campton in 1977 and eleven brothers and sisters.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Teresa Campton of Peebles, Tim and Sherry Campton of Peebles, John and Theresa Campton of Peebles, two daughters and sons-in-law, Candy and Eddie Grooms of West Union, Joyce and Bob King of Peebles, one brother, Ralph Slack of Peebles, two sisters, Dorothy Coler of Greenfield, Vivian Bryan of Greenfield, 13 grandchildren, Heather, Jessica, Matt, Mark, Brennan, Ben, Amy, Steven, Ashlee, Johnathon, Alisha, Michael and Sarah, one great grandchild, Dylan and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at the Peebles Church of Christ in Christian Union with Dave Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
