Gladys P. Tong Hilterbran, 70 years of Latham, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
She was born in Latham, Ohio on June 15, 1930 the daughter of the late Elmer and Farie Johnson Tong.
She was a Postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service. She was a member of the Zion Temple of Deliverance of Spring Valley, Ohio, Union Hill Undenominational Community Church, and the National Association Postmasters of the United States.
She is survived by her husband who she married on August 25, 1949, Carey R. Hilterbran of Latham, two sons and daughters-in-law, Carey Glenn and Shirley Hilterbran of Leesburg, Dennis and Sherry Hilterbran of Latham, daughter and son-in-law, LaDonna and Gary Main of Hillsboro, sister and brother-in-law, Loretta ?Scrubby? and Bill Thompson of Sinking Spring, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and one niece.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. at the Mt. Zion Christian Union Church in Poplar Grove with Rev. Tom Pfeifer officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call on Saturday from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring, Ohio.
Memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion Christian Union Church, C/O Yvonne Brewster, 14601 State Route 124, Piketon, OH 45661.
