Glessie Burke, 79 years of Bluecreek, passed away Monday, April 20, 2009 at University of Cincinnati Hospital.
She was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on June 19, 1929 the daughter of the late Thomas and Viola Justice Adkins.
She is survived by her husband Cline Burke of Bluecreek, whom she married on January 3, 1951, two sons and daughters-in-law; Jerry and Linda Burke of New Boston, Michigan and Tim and Cherryl Burke of Hillsdale, Michigan, one daughter; Jennifer Ridolfi of Bluecreek, five brothers; John Adkins of Tennessee, Roy Adkins of Blue Creek, Garry Adkins of Mississippi, Denver Adkins of West Union, and Jeff Adkins of Rarden, six sisters; Bessie Leedy of Peebles, Ethel Honeycutt of Peebles, Wilma Roden of Rarden, Karen Elliott of Michigan, Clena Maynard of Portsmouth, and Reet Justice of Kentucky, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, four step grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
