H.P. "Mac" McIntyre, 88 years of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Highland District Hospital.
He was born December 5, 1925 at Flemingsburg, KY., the son of the late William and Lyda HughesMcIntyre. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Jane Shriver McIntyre on January 2, 2004; one brother Homer McIntyre; one sister Elizabeth Malone.
Mac served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the VFW Post 9094 in Hillsboro. After his service to his country, he owned and operated an Ashland Filling Station in Hillsboro for several years and then worked as a mechanic for Hillsboro Ford, Sherwood Auto Sales, West View Motors and retired working for himself.
He is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Sonjia Muladore of Martinsville, Denise and Robert Newcomb of Cincinnati, Elaine and Rick Kelch of Hillsboro, Tresa and Duane Butler of Hillsboro; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Duane Butler will officiate with burial to follow in the Sugar Tree Ridge Cemetery.
Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
