H. Gene Rhoads

Herschel Eugene "Gene" Rhoads, 85 years of Xenia, passed away on Thursday September 30, 2021.
He was born in Highland County on May 4, 1936, the son of the late Herschel and Margaret (Gustin) Rhoads. Besides his parents, he is also preceded by his first wife, Elsie Jeanett Rhoads on April 3, 2012, four sisters, Sandy Hayslip-Homer, Martha Gall, Lucille Rhoads and Shirley Quigley and three brothers, Ray, Richard and William Rhoads.
Gene loved classic cars, going to car shows, fishing and the Cincinnati Reds.
Gene is survived by his wife, Creada Rhoads, sons, Mike Rhoads of Wilmington, Mark Rhoads of Wilmington, Steve (Lori) Rhoads of Georgia and Bruce (Jill) Rhoads of Blanchester, 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, brother, Robert (Venita) Rhoads of Wilmington and sisters, Sarah (Richard) Speaight of Missouri, Peggy (Eldon) Speaight of Wilmington, Sharon (Rick) Adams of Clarksville, Brenda (Michael) Mobley of Blanchester and Debbie Napier of Blanchester.
Funeral Services will be 1:30 PM Thursday October 7, 2021 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11:30 AM until time of services on Thursday at the Thompson Funeral Home.
