Harce Greeley Self

H. G. "Jr." Self, 83 years of Millbrook, AL., formerly of Sinking Spring, passed away on Monday September 22, 2014.
He was born in Willwright, KY on December 11, 1930, the son of the late Harce Greeley and Lucille (Wright) Self, Sr.;besides his parents he was also preceded by four brothers Major E., Richard Arlene, Jimmy, Billy Frank Self and one sister Ruth Shepard.
Jr. retired in 1969 from the U.S. Navy after 22 years serving during the Korean Conflict and the Viet-Nam Era; owned and operated Self Grocery in Sinking Spring, served on the Brush Creek Township Fire Dept for 31 years, was a member of the Highland Lodge #38 F. & A.M. and loved to fish.
He is survived by his brother Bobby Ray Self of San Antonio, TX, two sisters-in-law, Sue K. Self of Millbrook, AL and Eileen Self of San Antonio, TX., several nieces, nephews and host of friends.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. on Saturday September 27, 2014 at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
