Harold F. Nichols, 88 years of Peebles, died Thursday, June 19, 2003 at the Adams County Hospital in West Union.
He was born in Peebles, Ohio on September 29, 1914 the son of the late Vernon and Cassie Shoemaker Nichols.
He was a member of the Peebles Church of God, a Meigs Township Trustee for forty-eight years, vice president of the Adams County Trustee and Clerk Association, and past president of the Adams County Board of Health. He was a farmer and a school bus driver.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Boggess Nichols, who he married on May 28, 1941, son, Dean Nichols of Peebles, daughter and son-in-law, Naomi and Forest Smalley of Peebles, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one step grandchild, two step great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the Peebles Church of God with Ron Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call on Saturday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
