Hazel West, 93 years of Seaman, passed away Friday, February 11, 2011 at Doctor's West Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born in Highland County, Ohio on January 18, 1918 the daughter of the late Arthur and Essie Chamblin Unger.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas E. West who passed away in 1998, three brothers; Robert, Johnny, and William Unger, and three sisters; Lucille Williams, Ruth Boyd, and Garnet Wright.
She is survived by three sons; Harold and Josephine West of San Diego, California, William West of Toledo, Ohio, and Dewey West of Seaman, two daughters; June West Reynolds of San Diego, California and Ruth Mae and Lowell Morgan of Hilliard, Ohio, one brother; James Unger of Seaman, four sisters; Elizabeth Spalwn of Anchorage, Alaska, Wilma Hough of Dayton, Doris Resevois of Buford, and Betty Jean Gilbert of Dayton, 18 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman with Rev. Volley Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Tranquility Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman.
Memorials may be made to Seaman Life Squad.
