Helen T. Stephens

Helen Jane Stephens , 85 years old of Hillsboro, died Saturday, August 13, 2005 at the Villa Angela Care Center in Columbus, Ohio. Helen was born January 23, 1920 to the late George Elbert and Nina Evans Tolle. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Cyrus Norman Stephens on April 12, 2005, and a sister, Elizabeth Evans Tolle Dennison.

Helen was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School for many years. She graduated from Hillsboro High School and attended Ohio Wesleyan College. She graduated from Wilmington College with a teacher?s degree and taught in the Hillsboro Elementary School system for many years. She was a former member of Hillsboro Towne Club.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard U. and Barbara Stephens of Columbus, Ohio and John and Lauren Stephens of Albuquerque, New Mexico; four grandsons, Craig Diane Peterson of Columbus, Ohio, Michael Darlene Stephens of Fresno, California, Mark Stephens of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mathew Stephens of Oakhurst, California, two great grandchildren Keri and Courtney Peterson; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathryn and Richard Davis and Ann and William Nye both of Hillsboro, Ohio; one brother-in-law, Blair Dennison of Hillsboro, Ohio.

There will be no visitation, and the services will be held at the convenience of the family.

The Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of the arrangements.
