Henry E. Riley, 89 years of Hillsboro, died Monday, February 13, 2006 at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.
He was born in Adams County, Ohio on March 4, 1916.
He was a U.S. Army First Division 18th Infantry veteran of World War II. He retired from the State of Ohio Department of Natural Resources in 1979. He worked for several years for Fort Hill and Rocky Fork Lake. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints, the Highland County Senior Citizens, lifetime member of the Hillsboro VFW Post #9094, and the Hillsboro American Legion Post #129.
He was united in marriage on December 6, 1941 to Viola Rhoads Riley, who survives. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at the Pathway to Christ Church, formerly the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints in Sinking Spring with Darren Lilly officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, and at the Pathway to Christ Church on Thursday from 1:00 till 2:00 P.M.
