Homer Johnson

January 23, 1922 — February 12, 2009

Homer Johnson, 87 years of Peebles, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Adams County Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Floyd County, Kentucky on January 23, 1922 the son of the late George and Francis Lambert Johnson.

Homer was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, a member of the Pipe Fitters Union Local # 265, and the American Legion Peebles Post # 594.

He is survived by his son Butter Fuller of Peebles, daughter Kay Matthews of Peebles, daughter and son-in-law Carol and Bill Smalley of Peebles, four brothers; Clail, Walt, Wilber, and Bob Johnson all of Peebles, sister Josephine Routt, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 16, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Dave Hopkins officiating. There will be a military service by the Adams County Honor Guard. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends may call on Monday from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
