Howard Lee Hawkins, 76 years of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at his residence.
He was born at Winchester, IN on May 22, 1927 the son of Hansford and Rosetta Arrasmith Hawkins.
He was a member of the Prospect United Methodist Church, Troy Fish and Game, Troy Lodge F.& A.M., Hillsboro F.O. E. Aerie # 1161, Retired from Hobart Corp at Troy, OH after 37 years, an Army-Air Corp Veteran, and was a lifelong Farmer.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife Helen Turner Hawkins whom he married on March 4, 1950, one son and daughter-in-law, Mark Lee and Regina A. Hawkins of Fletcher, OH, five daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen L and David Granlund of Fletcher, OH, Anna and Roger Ritter of Belfast, OH, Carol Sue Webb of Fletcher, OH, Linda Kay Meece of Vandalia, OH, Mary Jayne and Steve Brown of Piqua, OH, two brothers, Willard Hawkins of Troy, OH, Clarence Hawkins of Seaman, OH, four sisters, Annabelle Black of Piqua, OH, Ethel Wilkins of Sidney, OH, Ruby Mikels of Troy, OH, Rosie Foles of New Carlisle, OH, two sisters-in-law, Athena Hawkins of Troy, OH, Eunice Hawkins of Mowrystown, OH, fifteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, OH, with Pastor Ken Woleb officiating. Burial will follow in the Samantha Methodist Cemetery with Military Graveside services by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Saturday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home.
