Howard was born April 9, 1925 in Brown County, OH., the son of the late Roy Reed Heaton and Sarah Elizabeth (Wohleber) Heaton.
Howard married his late wife Dorothy Wenona (Cornetet) Heaton on June 21, 1947. They were married for 64 years. They have two surviving sons, Terry Lynn (Kathy) Heaton and David Owen Heaton and one daughter, the late Nancy Jane Heaton.
