Hurstel Robinson, 92 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Wednesday February 25, 2015 at the Laurels of Hillsboro.
He was born in London, KY on May 27, 1922, the oldest son of the late Dewey and Lillie (Lewis) Robinson. Besides his parents he was also preceded by grandson Jesse D. Robinson; three brothers, Andy, Arnold and Virgil Robinson; one sister Florence Jurgens .
Hurstel worked at Wayne Body Works for 10 years, Hayes Track Appliance for eight years and Meda Gold Dairy. Hurstel and his brother formerly owned and operated Robinson Brothers Sawmill. He was a Lifetime Member of the Hillsboro F.O.E. Aerie #1161; a former President of Highland Fox Hunter's Association and attended Belfast High School. Hurstel liked his fox hounds and hunted a lot when he could. He went with his Dad hunting when he was 6 years old.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years Martha (Frump) Robinson; two sons, Verlin H. (Geraldine) Robinson of Tecumseh, AL., Jerry D. (Nancy) Robinson of Hillsboro, OH.; one daughter Patricia E. Jeffries of New Vienna, OH.; two sisters, Ollie Smith of Corbin, KY., Lula Hayes of Richmond, IN.; four sisters-in-law, Norma Bick of Hillsboro, Phyllis Robinson of St. Petersburg, FL., Willa Rooker of Hillsboro, Wanda Robinson of Hillsboro: six grandchildren; Robert Robinson, Melinda (Frankie) Frech, Joseph (Gail) Robinson, Randy (Cora) Robinson, David Jeffries and Amy Huston; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends..
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Tom Stoops officiating. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery.
Friends may call at Monday from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
