Ira C. "Bud" Grant, Jr., 93 years of Hillsboro, died Monday, May 30, 2011 at his residence.
He was born May 23, 1918 in Cincinnati, OH., the son of the late Ira and Edna Newcomb Grant, Sr. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Grace Louise Kuhn Grant on July 30, 2008, two brothers and one sister.
Bud was an Army Veteran of W.W. II, retired from the City of Cincinnati as Supervisor of Maintenance and worked in Hillsboro for K-Mart at all three locations after his retirement. Bud was a member of the Hillsboro Freewill Baptist Church where he drove the church bus and visited the nursing homes.
He is survived by one son, Timothy Grant, of San Francisco, CA., one step daughter, Barbara Suttle, of Hillsboro, one step son, James Edith Suttle, of Loveland, OH., two sisters, Edna Smith, of Cincinnati, OH., Dorothy Newcomb of Cincinnati, OH., four grandchildren, David Suttle, Jennifer Hughes, Patrick Snider, Henry Snider, seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 3, 2011 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Rev. Tom Zile will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Cincinnati with military graveside rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
