Irene Alexander

Irene Alexander, 92 years of Nome, Texas, formerly of Winchester, passed away Friday, January 8, 2010 at Arboretum of Winnie in Winnie, Texas.

She was born in Highland County, Ohio on March 4, 1917 the daughter of the late Joseph and Stella Mae Mills Parr.

Irene was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Art Alexander, who passed away in 1996, her infant son William Alexander, and one sister; Gertrude Luntz Stephenson.

She is survived by one niece; Rosa Mae Rolph of Nome, Texas, one nephew; Floyd Burns, Jr. of Manchester, two great nieces; Roweena Barns of Nome, Texas and Tammy Castleman of Chandler, Texas, three great nephews; Richard Scalf of Beaufort, South Carolina, Tim Rolph of Kountze, Texas, and Malcolm Burns of Manchester, several great great nieces and nephews, and several great great great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Bradford-Sullivan Chapel in Winchester with Jerry Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Bradford-Sullivan Chapel in Winchester.
