Irene M. Austin, 82 years of Peebles, died Friday, February 15, 2002 at the U.C. Medical Center in Cincinnati.
She was born in Huntington, West Virginia on February 6, 1920 the daughter of the late Lacy and Bessie Ramsey Jones.
She was a member of the Peebles Church of God. She owned a nursing home.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Berlin Austin, who passed away on November 28, 1970.
She is survived by her son, Doug Austin of Cincinnati, three grandchildren, brother, Lloyd Jones of Milford, and sister, Pearl Chamblin of Peebles.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2002 at 3:00 P.M. at the Peebles Church of Christ in Christian Union with Cheryl Mitchell and Dave Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 till 3:00 P.M. at the Peebles Church of Christ in Christian Union.
Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles is in charge of arrangements.
