Irene Queen, 89 years of Winchester, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009 at Adams County Manor.
She was born in Lewis County, Kentucky on January 9, 1920 the daughter of the late John L. and Clara A. Gulley Thomas.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joe Queen, son Joe T. Queen, brother Sanford Thomas, and five sisters; Opal Thomas, Dorothy Wilson, Joyce Schnell, Frances Voiers, and Gaynell Thomas.
Irene was a longtime member of the First Church of Christ in Winchester.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Robin Elliott of Sardinia, two sisters; Lillian Ramey and Evelyn Wilbur both of Columbus, two grandchildren; Amy Queen Jones and Scott Queen, three great grandchildren; Mandy, Michael, and Elizabeth, step granddaughter Jessica Turner, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Church of Christ in Winchester with Don Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Cherry Fork Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Bradford-Sullivan Chapel in Winchester.
Memorials may be made to First Church of Christ in Winchester or Hospice of Hope, 215 Hughes Blvd. Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154.
