Irene Davis Stroop, 77 years of Hillsboro, died Thursday, March 1, 2012 at her residence.
She was born November 27, 1934 in Adams County, OH., the daughter of the late McClellan and Edna Turner Davis. Beside her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Yami; three brothers, Bill, Danny and Wayne Davis.
She is survived by one son, David Humphrey of Hillsboro, one daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Dave Ballein of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Stacey Humphrey, McClellan Humphrey, Steve Howland, Jodie Burke, Jesse Davis, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wib and Ruth Davis of Hillsboro, Dale and Barbara Davis of Mason, two sisters and brother-in-law, Karen Davis of Rainsboro, Jean and John Gieseking of Beckley, W.VA. one sister-in-law, Sharon Davis of Hillsboro; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Rev. John Little will officiate with burial to follow in the New Market Baptist Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
